Horsforth Harriers Running Club
Horsforth Harriers was established in 1985 when just ten new club members set out for their first run. The club has grown from that initial few to over 250 members in the past 35 years.
Horsforth Harriers is widely regarded in the running community as the friendliest running club in North West Leeds. It remains a club that welcomes experienced runners, as well as new runners starting out and seeking the encouragement and support of fellow runners.
Horsforth Harriers is primarily a road running club and members take part in races from 5K through to marathon, ultra and beyond. Members also take part in cross country, fell and trail races.
2023 sees the 17th running of the The Apperley Bridge Canter (more colloquially known as the ‘ABC’)
2023 APPERLEY BRIDGE CANTER
The ABC is a challenging race of approximately 10km, largely off-road along woodland tracks in a rural part of the Aire Valley. It attracts runners from clubs across the country, as well as increasing numbers of unattached runners.
The race is organised annually by Horsforth Harriers from its established base at Woodhouse Grove School, Apperley Bridge.
THURSDAY 1st June 2023 | Starting at 7.30pm
From Woodhouse Grove School, Apperley Bridge, Bradford BD10 0NR.
- Approximately 10K, challenging multi-terrain race on tracks, paths and road.
- Run under UKA rules.
- Minimum age 16 years.
- Race Limit 550.
- Category prizes*.
- Top 3 in both ‘Open’ categories, one in each Vet age category, male and female.
- Maximum of one prize per entrant.
- Memento to all finishers.
- Fund raising for MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association).
- Cake!!!**

COLLECT NUMBER FROM RACE HQ ON NIGHT FROM 6:00PM.

Limited parking is available on site. Please ensure that you arrive in good time and consider car sharing. Race HQ is a 10min walk from Apperley Bridge Train Station. The venue is on the 747 and 948 bus route.
